Well the heat returned today with a vengeance. We visited the local church here in Yerpedu. About 30-40 members. However, with the heat and the holiday season they are only averaging 25 members and around 10-12 kids for Sunday school.
(this is me 5 minutes after waking up, but happy!)
The highlight of the day was pancakes. Since we were in the city on Saturday we bought some “non-necessities” to enjoy the hot days with. So that was great. Nothing like pancakes, home made syrup and Limca (lemon/lime soda) to start the day with.
I spent the today reading and outlining a book, “God is at Work”. It is a very interesting read for me, since I am a little turned off by the “tentmaking” life-style arguments over the last few years. I am growing in my concern or the economic growth with the spiritual growth of the villages we encounter, and how we maybe able to help. So I am happy to hear some of these arguments from a book.
The family watched “Om, Shanti, Om” it is the biggest grossing Hindi film in history. I skipped out on it. Feeling a little tired so, it is to bed early.
Prayers – Kathryn is feeling better, still needs prayers for her hands. She should be at 100% by Tuesday/Wednesday. Thanks for thinking of her.
Praises – Yesterday and Today have been good for the soul. A break from the stress of reforming, revisioning, re-everything here at the hospital. I am looking forward to talking and dreaming with the family this week as we map out the new “Children’s Ward” that will house anywhere from 10-15 children who are too sick to leave, or families are too poor to attend to them. I am just looking forward to seeing a bright colored children’s house of their own next time we visit. So praise the Lord, for the funds that are now available and that the ball is rolling.
Thanks for checking in on us!
